The Why:
Join us for the 8th Annual Booth International Festival and mix with great people, learn about other cultures, sample food and drinks from around the world, and the best part? In doing so, you show your support and friendship for people around the world who suffer from a mood disorder.

As dedicated world travelers, Jim and Ilze Booth decided 8 years ago that they would combine their fascination with other cultures with another personal interest of theirs, supporting the fundraising efforts of the Mood Disorders Association of B.C.  This year, the Booth family and friends are continuing the tradition.  The result? A festival that has grown to become the largest private donor of funds to the MDA, with over $50,000 raised to date.

The Mood Disorders Association of BC is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, education and hope of recovery for those living with a mood disorder or other mental illness. They serve to build awareness and understanding in communities throughout the province, while at the same time, offering support and friendship for those with mood disorders, as well as their friends and family. As this is a family-friendly event, children are welcome to join in on the activities and entertainment! There will be kid wranglers on site to keep the little ones occupied with activities and entertainment while mom and dad are off dancing to the band or sampling delicacies from foreign countries. Prizes will be awarded for best Male and Female Costume, and fierce team challenges could result in your team winning the coveted 8th Annual Best Table prize!

The How:
1. Only one country can be represented (per table)
2. Country selection is on a first reserved basis

Cheques are to be made out to the MDA of BC and will be collected on the day of the festival. Your
donations are 100% tax-deductible.
5. Each table will supply drinks and food for up to 100 people. Keep in mind the format includes 4 hours of grazing so appetizer-size portions only.
6. The festival organizers will provide the tables, white paper tablecloths, glasses, plates and cutlery, as well as wait staff to keep things tidy. Please let the organizers know ahead of time if your table requires an electrical cord for music, hot plates, etc.
7. The success of this event depends on you—from the costume you wear, to the food, drinks and music you bring, to the items that you use to decorate your table. The tables that always have the most fun are those that make the greatest effort to re-create the atmosphere of their chosen country. Rediscover your inner child and let creativity be your guide!
8. Can’t find 6 people to make up your table? We have a matching service this year – email either Maia
or Jade with how many you have for your table and we will try to match you up with additional guests
